Dutch Oven Roast Beef

This Dutch oven dish takes a while to cook, but the results are well worth it. You'll get a delicious, tender, moist roast beef that you'd never believe you could cook outdoors.

Dutch Oven Roast Beef
Prep time: 10 mins
Cook time: 4 hours
Total time: 4 hours 10 mins
Ingredients
  • 1 (7-10) lb Roast
  • 2 Vidalia Onions
  • 2 bottles of Catalina dressing
  • Carrots and Potatoes
Instructions
  1. Peel and cut the onions in half.
  2. Place them cut side down in the bottom of the Dutch oven.
  3. Place the roast on top and cover with the 2 bottles of Catalina dressing.
  4. Fill the bottles 3/4 full with water and pour over roast.
  5. Cover and simmer over camp fire for 2-4 hours.
  6. Peel and cut carrots and potatoes and place in with roast.
  7. Cook for another hour.
  8. Remove from heat and serve.
